Meet The Teachers...

Laura (Principal/Director/Sing, Dance, Act & LAMDA Teacher)...

"I began my training at Cheshire College of Performing Arts, where I gained a Advanced BTEC National Diploma in Musical Theatre and LAMDA Acting Awards. Throughout my training I thoroughly enjoyed starring in many stage performances.

Since my training, I firstly toured the North-West as a part of a vocal duo called ‘SWAY’. From then I have been represented by one of the leading North-West casting agents. For 2 years I appeared on ‘Coronation Street’ as one of the factory girls. I also had roles on 'CBeebies', 'Crimes That Shook Britain', 'Hollyoaks’ as ‘Young Zoe’, Peter Kay's 'Pop Factor' and too many more to mention.

I have appeared on many different soaps, dramas, films and commercials, even working with big names like Sylvester Stallone, Denise Welch, David Beckham and Jamie Oliver. I also have completed my Acrobatics, Cheerleading and LAMDA Acting teaching certification.

My favourite things are my three beautiful daughters, my husband, our doggy called 'Martha Shadazzle Glitter Sparkle', the colour purple, leopard print and glitter!

Over a 17 year period I have gained so much experience in the performing arts and TV industry, I feel it is now my time to pass on my experience, knowledge, skills and talents to the children of Shadazzle School of Performing Arts"

Maria (Head of Dance, Reflections Dance Company & Cheer Pom)

"Dance is the way to express myself, my escape, my passion! I feel so alive when I am dancing and even more when I inspire other people to dance with me.

I completed my trained at The Royal Academy of Dance. I then went on to travel the world and professionally perform at the National Theatre of Rhodes, National Theatre of Athens Greece, Royal Theatre of Thessaloniki, Maiori Festival Italy and The Royal Opera House, to name a few.

Dance teaching was always my dream job and I am so grateful that I have been able to it for so long! I studied Dance & Performing Arts in Bircham International University and I continued my studies with a MA in Dance Education. Also, I am a qualified Cheerleading coach level 4 of the IASF and qualified coach and judge of International Cheer Union. As a choreographer, everything around me can be an inspiration.

I do have a special love in Pina's Bausch work, she was my favourite choreographer. She said "I am not interested in how people move, but what moves them" and this a quote that describes my philosophy completely.

Lucy (Head of Acro, Cheerleading & Gymnastics)...

"From the age of 4 I have been a Rhythmic Gymnast, I competed regionally and nationally until my retirement at the age of 16. I then went straight into coaching gymnastics and also went on to train and compete in cheerleading until I was 21.

I then took the leap to open my own cheerleading academy and I am Level 5 Cheer Coach qualified in Stunts, Tumbles and Tosses. I am also qualified in Level 2 in Gymnastics, have a Degree in Dance and Fitness, a qualified PT, Fitness Instructor and Exercise to Music Teacher.

My favourite things are spending days out or in with my family. Watching movies, ordering take out and sleeping.

I love to share my knowledge and passion with all of the students at Shadazzle!"
